D K Shivakumar, the president of Congress' Karnataka unit president, tested positive for the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) on Tuesday. Shivakumar has been admitted to a private hospital in Bengaluru.
He tweeted Tuesday afternoon to confirm that he had tested positive for the novel coronavirus. Mr Shivakumar, 58, said he was "doing well" but had been hospitalised "as a precaution". He also urged all those who had come in contact with him to take precautions.

On Saturday, Mr Shivakumar had postponed his tour of flood-affected parts of the state citing health reasons
"On health grounds, postponing my visit by three days to the flood-affected regions of Belagavi and Bagalkote districts, which was scheduled on August 24 and 25. New itinerary will be released soon," he had said then in twitter.
