JNU students accuse professor of sexual harassment; probe initiated
New Delhi: The Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) initiated an investigation after at least 10 students accused a professor of sexual harassment, with the university's Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) examining the allegations, India Today reported.
The complaints, filed about a month ago, allege that the professor invited students to gatherings at his on-campus residence, where he allegedly made inappropriate sexual advances. He has also been accused of making lewd remarks during classes.
Several senior students subsequently backed the complainants and raised similar concerns about the professor's alleged conduct.
The JNU administration and Vice-Chancellor's Office have not yet stated the allegations, while the student body has also provided no update.
