Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir administration has dismissed three government employees from service due to their alleged links with terrorist groups. The action was taken under Article 311(2)(c) of the Indian Constitution, which permits termination without inquiry in matters concerning national security.
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha ordered the removal of police constable Firdous Ahmad Bhat, teacher Mohammad Ashraf Bhat, and Forest Department orderly Nisar Ahmad Khan. Officials confirmed that all three are currently imprisoned for activities deemed a threat to state security.
Firdous Ahmad Bhat, a police constable, was arrested for allegedly providing logistical and operational support to terrorist groups in the region. Intelligence agencies claimed he was actively assisting militant outfits.
Mohammad Ashraf Bhat, employed as a teacher, was accused of radicalizing students and maintaining ties with banned extremist organizations.
Nisar Ahmad Khan, a Forest Department orderly, was allegedly involved in facilitating the movement of terrorists through forested areas in the Valley.
The crackdown on government employees with terror links is part of the Central government’s broader strategy to dismantle the terror network in Jammu and Kashmir. The administration has been actively identifying and removing government personnel accused of acting as facilitators, harborers, and Over-Ground Workers (OGWs) of terrorist groups.
Following directives from Union Home Minister Amit Shah, security forces have intensified counter-terrorism operations in the region. To bolster security efforts, the Central government recently deployed two additional Army battalions to Jammu and Kashmir.
Meanwhile, intelligence agencies have reported an uptick in terrorist activities, allegedly orchestrated by handlers based in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). They attribute the recent surge in militant actions to frustration among these handlers over the peaceful conduct of Lok Sabha and Legislative Assembly elections in the Union Territory.
The security situation remains under close watch as authorities continue efforts to eliminate the terror ecosystem in Jammu and Kashmir.
