JD(S) member arrested for plotting communal in Karnataka's Kodagu

Kodagu: Karnataka police have registered a First information Report against two people for allegedly plotting to incite communal violence and kill people of one community.

Those facing charges include a Janata Dal Secular (JDS) municipal corporation member, Abdullah. 

The case was registered following the emergence of an audio clip where a plot for hurling petrol bombs were allegedly discussed, according to report in India Today.

Another person to be arrested following the complaint on this plot is a member of Madikeri Municipal Corporation, Musthafa.

The two were accused of discussing how to stoke communal passions as well as hurling petrol bombs to kill members of another community, according to the report.

The audio clip in Malayalam revealed the accused ones as plotting to simultaneously attack 50 different places with petrol bombs to create fear amongst members of another community. 

Following the reports of the plot the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) asked for the case be handed over to the National Investigation Agency (NIA).
