Jagan Reddy says tomorrow is a "momentous day" for Andhra; 13 new districts are to be created

Hyderabad:  In Andhra Pradesh, the number of districts will be doubled to 26, with 13 new districts being added. The state's Council of Ministers will meet on April 7, during which key decisions will be made on the government's future.

 Jagan Mohan Reddy will inaugurate 13 new districts in Andhra Pradesh tomorrow. The process of forming new districts in Andhra Pradesh is complete.

 "The Chief Minister will launch district portals and handbooks to make it possible for people to engage on this momentous day," the Chief Minister's office said.

 As part of the initiative, Mr Reddy will present Vasathi Deevana awards on April 6 to volunteers from all village and ward secretariats in the state.

 He conducted a review meeting at the camp office in Vijayawada to study the reorganisation efforts. He is likely to release a final notification referring to the reorganisation of existing districts into 26 in the next few days.

 As part of the reorganisation process, four subcommittees were set up under the guidance of the Chief Minister, the office of the Chief Minister noted.

 Members of the subcommittees gave Reddy an update on the actions taken in terms of reallocating officers and personnel.

 In addition to this, he received information about the structure of each district, the number of employees and departments that were to be included in them, and the steps taken by each committee to establish offices for the departments.
