Jacqueline Fernandez appeals to public to respect her privacy as photos with conman go viral

A statement issued by Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandez has made an appeal to members of the public and the media to not share photos which 'intrude' upon her private life as she is currently going through a 'rough patch'. The statement comes after several photos of the actress with conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar went viral. Chandrashekhar is currently the main accused in a ₹200 crore cheating case.

Stating that India and its people had always given her lovee and respect, Jacqueline said she was going through a rough patch in her life but that her friends from the media and her fans would help see her through it.

"It is with this trust that I would request my media friends to not circulate images of a nature that intrude my privacy and personal space. You would not do this to your own loved ones, am sure you would not do this to me either. Hoping that justice and good sense prevails. Thank you," the statement reads as posted on her Instagram account. The comments for the post are disabled.

The intimate photo of the actress and conman is one of many that have surfaced since Fernandez was linked to Chandrashekhar and had to record her statement thrice before the Enforcement Directorate which is investigating this case.

Fernandez has denied any connection to the conman's more unsavoury business practises and has insisted that she too was a victim as he had lied and convinced her that he was the owner of Sun TV and promised to get her exclusive movie deals.

She received many gifts from Chandrashekhar including luxury goods like Birkin bags and diamond jewellery as well as several Persian cats worth over 4 lakhs each, as well as a horse worth over 50 lakh. The conman has admitted to being in a relationship with her. Multiple luxury gifts were also given to her parents according to Chandrashekhar's testimony.

Chandrashekhar is being investigated for defrauding the wives of jailed former Religare promoters Shivinder and Malvinder Singh out of ₹200 crore by posing as a government official in the Home Ministry. His wife, Bollywood actress Leena Paul, is also linked to the case as she allegedly help him launder money from his exploits.

Actress Nora Fatehi also received a luxury car from Chandrashekhar and his wife and has also given her statement to the Enforcement Directorate, but has denied any links to him.
