IUML Offers Supportive Aid to Family of Hathras Victim

The Indian Union Muslim League has offered supportive aid to the family of Hathras victim and demanded an investigation probe in the gang rape and murder of the 19-year-old Dalit girl. The party delegation visited the family on October 11, 2020, and offered assistance to the family.

National President of Muslim Students' Federation (MSF), Student wing of IUML, on behalf of the organization and the party extended strong solidarity with the family of Hathras Victim. He said, "We are ready to extend any kind of assistance and support to the family of the victim in order to ensure justice in the case"

He further accused ruling regime Bhartiya Janata Party of being partial to the family and victim because they belong to a particular caste. He said, "BJP is trying to give a caste angle to the issue. The family is under the threat of social boycott. There is only a negligible number of Dalit families in the village Bhulgarhi, where the Dalit girl was raped and murdered and so these families and under the large fear."

Although the case has been sent to probe by Central Bureau of Investigation, we demand an investigation under the supervision of the Supreme Court, which can only ensure fair investigation and justice.

Party national secretary Khurram Anees Omar, Youth League National Secretary CK Subair, Youth League National Vice President Adv. Faisal Babu, MSF National President TP Ashraf Ali, MSF National Vice President P.V. Ahamed Saju, MSF National Secretary E Shameer and MYL National Ex Member, Shibu Meeran were the part of the IUML's delegation to Hathras.

Earlier ET Muhammaed Basheer, Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha- Ponnai) and IUML's National Organising Secretary has been writing on his social media accounts extending solidarity to the family. He wrote in one of his tweets, "Dalit and backward classes are being insulted and humiliated in the nation, it is our duty to support them in fighting injustices."

He had also participated in the national protest called by IUML demanding justice for Hathras gang rape victim on October 09, 2020.
