INDIA's Bihar ally Mukesh Sahani's father killed at home

Patna: In the Darbhanga district of Bihar, the father of Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP) head Mukesh Sahani was brutally murdered at his ancestral house. This morning, the mutilated body of Jitan Sahani was discovered on the bed. According to senior police officer Jagannath Reddy, a police squad is at the Sahanis' residence and he has confirmed the incident. The terrifying tragedy has made the locals fearful.

Mukesh Sahani, a former minister in the Bihar government, is the leader of the Vikassheel Insaan Party, which enjoys substantial support from the OBC community. In the INDIA Opposition alliance, VIP is now allied with the Congress and the RJD. Mukesh Sahani lives close to the home where his father once resided, NDTV reported.

A Special Investigation Team consisting of three members has been established to look into the shocking crime, according to Senior Officer Reddy. He suggested that the death of the elderly man might have been the consequence of jealousy or a failed theft attempt. He said that the police are considering all possibilities.

In response to Jitan Sahani's death at home, the main opposition RJD has sharply criticised the Nitish Kumar administration. According to RJD spokesperson Shakti Yadav, the incident has shocked the state.

"What is happening in Bihar? Not a day goes by without news of a murder. A mindless government is in power. The system has collapsed," he said. "May God grant Mukesh Sahani strength to bear this grief."

Deputy Chief Minister and BJP leader Samrat Choudhary termed the incident "unfortunate". "I want to assure on the behalf of the state government that strict action would be taken. Anyone guilty would be put behind bars. The government stands firmly with Mukesh Sahani ji's family," he said.

Senior police personnel are at the crime scene, and an investigation is in progress, Neeraj Kumar of the ruling JDU told IANS.

Union Minister and LJP (Ramvilas) leader Chirag Paswan condemned Jitan Sahani's murder. "The criminals will be identified at the earliest and action will be taken. My condolences for Mukesh Sahani ji and his family," he said.
