New Delhi: India's BrahMos supersonic cruise missile successfully hit its testing target on Wednesday.
India's Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari and other defence officials watched as the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) test fired the surface to surface missile in the Andaman and Nicobar islands.
Just days before, the BrahMos missile was in the news after one of them landed in Pakistan territory following a technical snag.
It was reportedly misfired after a technical malfunction from an Indian Air Force unit during a Command Air Staff Inspection (CASI) there.
Where it landed, the missile caused very little damage to property and equipment. But there was no harm to people.
Soon after the incident, India sent a letter to Pakistani authorities expressing its deep regret over the incident, and issued a statement too.
