Hunger strike in Hyderabad to give cows status of National Animal of India

Hyderabad: A hunger strike was held at Indira Park in Hyderabad demanding that the holy cow be made the national animal. Gau Mahadharna, an organization, went on a hunger strike on Monday. "The cow is the sacred animal of the Hindus. Yet they are slaughtered in this soil. This strike will not end until the cow is declared the national animal, " the protesters told the Deccan Chronicle. It has also decided to block the Vijayawada National Highway on January 8 regarding the same. Telangana Brahmin joint action committee in-charge N Ranjini Rao has also expressed support for the decision to make the cow the national animal.
