Human finger found in ice-cream ordered online in Mumbai

Mumbai: In a bizarre incident, a doctor in Mumbai discovered a portion of a human finger in an ice cream he had ordered online. After preserving the finger in ice, the doctor contacted the Malad police, who have sent it for forensic analysis and started a probe.

The portion of the human finger is approximately 1.5 cm, police said. "We have registered an FIR under sections 272, 273, and 336 of IPC on Thursday against the persons responsible," said DCP Anand Bhoite, Zone 11, as reported by ANI.

The dreadful incident occurred on Wednesday. Brendan Ferrao, residing in Orlem in Malad, was traumatized after finding the finger in the ice cream he had ordered through an online app. He had ordered three different ice creams, including a butterscotch ice cream from Yummo. Ferrao felt something odd while eating and, upon closer examination, discovered the finger. He preserved the portion in ice and contacted the police.

"The finger has been sent for forensic examination. It is likely that the ice cream was contaminated during the packing process," said a police officer.
