New Delhi: Jairam Ramesh corrected Rahul Gandhi during a press conference the Congress leader held on Thursday, a day after he arrived from the controversial foreign trip.
The BJP seized on the goof up to attack Rahul Gandhi even as the leader is being roundly attacked in the parliament over his statement about India’s democracy in UK.
Rahul Gandhi and Jairam Ramesh were interacting with media yesterday when Rahul said "Unfortunately, I am a Member of Parliament and as the allegation has been made in Parliament by four ministers, it is my democratic right to have an opportunity to speak."
Jairam Ramesh leaned over to Rahul Gandhi and spoke in hushed tones but was still audible enough to be heard, India Today reported.
After Ramesh was heard saying 'They will make a joke of you. Say 'unfortunately for you', Rahul Gandhi turned to the media said "I want to make it clear 'unfortunately for you'..."
The BJP leader Sambit Patra jumped at the opportunity to make a laughing stock of Rahul, asking Ramesh, "After all, how much and for how long will you teach him?"
Rahul Gandhi told the media that he was hopeful but not sure if he would be allowed to speak in Parliament.
