Chandigarh: The Haryana government, which has been at the centre of a controversy among industry and prospective employers for its decision to reserve 75 % of jobs in the private sector to natives of the state, says it is open to including suggestions from industry bodies while framing rules for the law, deputy chief minister Dushyant Chautala said on Sunday.
He said that the first meeting for framing the rules will be held here on Monday. The recent legislation, Haryana State Employment of Local Candidates Bill, 2020 was given assent by Governor Satyadeo Narain Arya.
The law mandates employers to reserve 75 % of jobs in the private sector with a monthly sector of less than Rs 50,000 to those who have a domicile certificate.
Leadersin various industries that operate in Haryana, have raised strong objections to the law on the grounds that this will reduce the freedom of enterprises to choose manpower with merit as per their standards and force them to employ local manpower which may not always meet the requirements. It will also dent the state's image as a place with ease of doing business and thus be a disincentive for outside investors, besides cutting jobs and giving room for 'inspector raj'.
