Ahmedabad: If voted to power in Gujarat, Aam Aadmi Party will provide a monthly allowance of ₹ 1,000 to all women above the age of 18 years, if they are willing to accept such a grant, party national convenor c um Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal proclaimed.
As poll campaigning is going on in Gujarat, the latest is the fifth "guarantee" from Kejriwal. Assembly elections in the state are scheduled by the end of the year.
Addressing an audience of hundreds of women in Ahmedabad, Kejriwal said, "Rs 1,000 (per month allowance) is not ready (freebie). This is your right. People's money should go to the people, not in the Swiss bank."
