Gandhinagar: The Gujarat Legislative Assembly on Thursday unanimously passed two non-government resolutions—one is on the Constitution and another Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana.
Speaking on the occasion, Gujarat Health Minister Rushikesh Patel alleged that at the time of framing the Constitution, Congress could not shed its colonial mindset, The Indian Express reported.
‘At the time of framing the Constitution of India, the question arose about who would frame it. Pandit Nehru suggested the names of two foreign constitutional experts, while Gandhiji suggested the name of Dr B R Ambedkar,’ the Health Minister was quoted as saying.
Rushikesh Patel added that the constitutional amendments that the Congress so far brought forth were for them to remain in power, not in the interest of the country, ‘The changes they made were only to maintain power and remain in power. If the Congress does not come out of its mindset, they will not be able to save democracy.’
Jagdish Vishwakarma, Minister of State for Small and Medium Enterprises, told the house that registration of sarpanch is completed in the state’s all 14,287 Gram Panchayats.
It is reported citing the minister that the state registered 15,05,192 beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana.
Alongside, skill training covering 18 traditional professions through 295 training centres have been provided to a total of 1,72,923 beneficiaries.
He added that Gujarat pulled off the fourth position nationally in providing skill training.
Meanwhile, the resolution on Constitution stated that Constitution is ‘our self-respect and self-respect of every citizen of India’, adding that ‘Today, ‘Sauno Sath Sauno Vikas’ (Together with all, development for all) has become possible through the Constitution. ‘Sauno Prayas (Everybody’s efforts)’ are also necessary to realise the resolve of a developed India. Through which, this assembly requests the state Government to take encouraging steps to protect the sanctity of the Constitution and continuously advance the development journey of every citizen through the Constitution and to make India a developed nation by the year 2047 and to take forward the campaign of ‘Hamara Samvidhan Hamara Swabhiman’”
Proposing the non-government resolution on PM Vishwakarma Yojana, the BJP MLA Pravinbhai Ghoghari for Karanj constituency said that ‘Under this scheme, a total of 37,785 beneficiaries have been approved for loans worth Rs 341 crore in Gujarat’.
Pravinbhai Ghoghari added that out of this loan, ‘Rs 225 crore has been distributed to 25,762 beneficiaries. Gujarat has secured the third place at the national level in both loan approval and distribution. PM Vishwakarma Yojana is providing economic upliftment in the lives of traditional artisans.’
