Mumbai: Bollywood actor Salman Khan received a threat mail from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang on Saturday afternoon.
The actor’s office lodged a complaint with the Bandra police seeking action.
Gangster Lawrence Bishnoi is currently in a Punjab jail after being the alleged mastermind behind the murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala.
The first Information Report into the murder of the singer also names Rohit Garg alongside Bishnoi and Brar.
The letter chillingly said that the Canada based gangster Goldy Brar, who is reportedly a close associate of Lawrence Bishnoi, wanted to talk to the actor.
The mail in Hindi asked Salman Khan to see the interview Lawrence Bishnoi had with a news channel, if the actor has not yet seen it.
Police have registered a case under sections 120-B (Punishment for criminal conspiracy), 506-II (Punishment for criminal intimidation) and 34 (common intention) under the Indian Penal Code.
The actor previously received threats from the gangster without them ever following up with any action.
When the actor was facing the trial of the blackbuck poaching case in 2018, Lawrence Bishnoi said Salman Khan hurt sentiments of the sect Bishnois that love animals.
Afterwards, the Maharashtra government decided to provide the actor Y+ grade of security cover.
Salman Khan has private security too, especially he is guarded by Gurmeet Singh alias Shera.
