Mumbai: The finger a doctor shockingly found in the ice cream days ago belonged to a staff at the Pune factory of Yummo ice cream, NDTV reported citing police.
It seems the police have finally solved the mystery of whose finger it was days after the case emerged.
It is reported citing police that a staff at Yummo ice cream suffered a finger injury in an accident.
The ice cream in which the finger was discovered was packed on the day of the accident, sources reportedly said.
As DNA test is underway, a confirmation on it can be made after the report comes, according to NDTV.
Mumbai doctor Orlem Brandon Serrao, 26, had a shock of his life after finding a finger in an ice cream his sister had ordered online.
"After eating half of it, I felt a solid piece in my mouth. I thought it could be a nut or a chocolate piece and spat it out to check what it was," Dr Serrao reportedly said, adding "I am a doctor, so I know how body parts look like. When I carefully examined it, I noticed the nails and fingerprint impressions under it. It resembled a thumb. I am traumatised".
Following the incident, the Food Safety Standards of India (FSSAI) has suspended the licence of the ice cream manufacturer.
