Farmers to hold tractor parade against new farm laws on August 15

New Delhi: Farmers in Haryana's Jind district are set to conduct a tractor parade on Independence Day to protest against the new farm laws.

Farmers will carry agriculture-related tools to the rally.

Farmers will begin the rally from Khatkar toll plaza and march towards the city. The leaders said that they have prepared a route but are ready to follow any other route decided by the authorities, reported NDTV.

"We'll take out a big rally with our tractors. We'll have our own tableaus. We will make a route plan and submit it to the authorities," said leader Vijender Sindhu to the media.

They have also decided not to allow any ministers to hoist the flag on August 15.

Satveer Pehelwan of Khera Khap said that any minister or leader from the government's side is not wanted on the occasion. He added that farmers will show black flags to oppose any such visit.

Farmers have been holding protests in Delhi and surrounding areas against the new farm laws since November 26, 2020. However, there has been no resolution to the issue yet despite several rounds of talks.
