Explosion at Uri military camp kills two Indian soldiers

Srinagar: Two Indian soldiers were killed in an accidental explosion at a military camp near the Line of Control (LoC) in the Uri sector of Jammu and Kashmir's Baramulla district.

The incident occurred on Tuesday evening at a military camp in the Kamalkote area. The sudden explosion at the camp resulted in severe injuries to the two soldiers.

The injured personnel were airlifted to the Army Hospital at Badamibagh Cantonment in Srinagar for emergency treatment. However, doctors confirmed that both soldiers had succumbed to their injuries before reaching the hospital.

The deceased soldiers were identified as Chavan Vikram Balakrishna, a resident of Airoli in Maharashtra, and Arjun Jadhav Rajendra, from Shapur in Maharashtra.

The cause of the explosion has not yet been determined. The Indian Army has ordered an investigation into the incident to ascertain the circumstances that led to the blast.

No further official details have been released so far. Authorities are continuing efforts to establish the exact cause of the explosion.

The deaths of the two soldiers have left their families and fellow servicemen mourning the loss of the young personnel who died while serving the nation.
