Experts predict more massive earthquakes but are not sure when

After the massive earthquake and following grave news from Turkey-Syria, talks on the natural disaster is high.

Experts are expecting massive earthquakes worse than any of that kind (in terms of damages) to happen and be known to humankind. When they are quite aware of where it could happen, they can hardly predict when it could be, Vox media reported.

The said earthquake is believed to hit the Pacific Northwest and will become the worst natural disaster North America has ever experienced. The quakes are expected to impact 7 million people and will span a region of 3,62,598.33 square kilometres.

The magnitude of the quakes might touch between 8.7 and 9.2, bigger than the largest expected earthquake from the San Andreas Fault. In 2015, The New Yorker won Pulitzer Price for reporting the potential earthquake which is going to hit North America.

In the case of the Pacific Northwest, experts have been discussing it for decades, and they don’t think it is overdue. They believe that it might happen at any time.

Another expert says that most of the people in the Pacific Northwest forget about the severe threat that is hanging above hear because the region has not had an earthquake in more than 300 years.

The author of the Pulitzer-winning piece, Kathryn Schulz, said that when California has been preparing for earthquakes with building codes and disaster planning, Pacific Northwest might be hit off guard.

Meanwhile, the cumulative death count out of the February 6 earthquake happened in Turkey and Syria passed 41,000 and counting.
