Samajwadi Party MLA Subhash Pasi from Sadipur seat of Ghazipur joined the BJP on Tuesday.
"SP MLA Subhash Pasi, his wife Rina Pasi today joined BJP here in presence of party state president Swatantra Dev Singh," BJP state general secretary Govind Narain Shukla said. Pasi was expelled from the party earlier on Tuesday for alleged anti-party activities.
Swatantra Dev Singh welcomed Pasi to the party and said his joining would further strengthen the BJP. Pasi is a second time SP MLA from Sadipur and has held the post of SP's SC/ST wing. He himself is a Dalit.
Last week BJP MLA Rakesh Rathore from Sitapur Sadar had joined the SP.
