Ex-Police Chief Parambir Singh to file petition for CBI probe against Maharashtra Home Minister

Following the Antilla bomb controversy which resulted in the arrest of officer Sachin Vaze, former Police Commissioner Parambir Singh has come forward with a writ petition in the Supreme Court, alleging corruption in the office of the Maharashtra Home Minister for which he has requested a CBI probe into the matter.

Singh, who was transferred out of office for his handling of the bomb scare at the Ambani residence, has made several claims that Home Minister Anil Deshmukh had charged Sachin Vaze with collecting 100 crores in bribes every month. The minister has so far denied all charges.

"The transfer of the petitioner in the aforesaid circumstances is for reasons smeared with malice, when there is no iota of material or evidence," reads the petition as quoted by Hindustan Times.

The ex-chief went on to mention that he had been forced to reveal the Home Minister's corrupt practises to Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and other high ranking members of the Shiv Sena for which he had been unfairly targeted in violation of his right to reputation, equality, liberty and dignity.
