New Delhi: Congress President Sonia Gandhi was held at the Enforcement Directorate (ED) office for two hours for questioning in the National Herald money laundering cases. She was allowed to leave after that, per her request that she is recovering from Covid-19, PTI reported.
The 75-year-old Congress premiere had arrived at the ED headquarters at Vidyut Lane in central Delhi a little after noon. She was accompanied by her Z+ category CRPF security cover.
Sources said that after completing formalities like verification summons and signature on the attendance sheet, the questioning began around 12:30 pm. She was allowed to leave on her request made on medical grounds, they said.
The ED probe is into the financial irregularities in Young Indian Private Limited, promoted by Congress. The company owns the National Herald newspaper.
