ECI revises SIR schedule for Kerala, MP, Chhattisgarh & Andaman

New Delhi: The Election Commission of India (ECI) has revised the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) schedule of electoral rolls in Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, The Indian Express reported.

The qualifying date for these states is January 1, 2026. The revised schedule was after requests from the respective Chief Electoral Officers of the states and earlier changes notified by the poll body.

The new schedule states that the last date of enumeration for the mentioned states is December 18, 2025, and the date for publication of draft electoral rolls is December 23, 2025.

The last notified schedule gave December 11 as the last date for enumeration and December 16 as the date to publish draft rolls.

Following the publication of draft rolls, voters are expected to check whether their names appear correctly and verify personal details such as age, address, and spelling. Voters must also ensure that eligible family members are included.

According to the TIE report, voters can make necessary corrections during claims and objections after the draft roll is published, aligning with ECI procedures.

After the publication of draft rolls, voters can check their status online by visiting https://voters.eci.gov.in/. They have to search using their EPIC number or personal details, using the ‘Search our name in E-roll’ option, which could be located on the top right side of the website. They can also view their entry in the draft electoral roll using their EPIC number.

Meanwhile, the poll body has advised new electors to submit Form 6 along with the required declaration either to their Booth Level Officers or online through the ECINet app or website for inclusion in the final rolls, TIE reported.
