Don't buy gold from Muslims, money will be used against Kerala Hindus: Sri Ram Sene

Bengaluru: The controversial hate speaker and the chief of Sri Ram Sene, Pramod Muthalik urged the members of fellow Hindu community not to purchase gold jewellery from Muslim traders on Akshaya Tritiya, an auspicious time to purchase jewellery.

He is of the opinion that the Muslim traders will channelise the money from the sale to organisations working against Hindus based in Kerala, and they will use it to commit more atrocities on Hindus in Kerala.

Pramod Muthalik wanted Hindus to buy gold from shops owned by Hindus.

Reacting to Muthalik's latest folly, senior BJP leader and MLC AH Vishwanath urged the Chief Minister to take note of the communal remark and sought action for the "extra-constitutional forces."

He also urged Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai to intervene and take action against these groups, adding that they should be put on trial. Slamming the government for its alleged inaction over curbing communal slate-ups, Vishwanath said, "The CM is also of this opinion. But the government is giving [these groups] many opportunities. That there are so many extra-constitutional forces operating in the state, who should be ashamed of it?"

The festival will be celebrated on May 3 this year.
