Hyderabad: All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen chief Asaduddin Owaisi slammed the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) administration of Delhi, saying that there is no development happening in the Muslim-dominated areas in the Union territory and these areas were used to dump garbage, Asian News International reported.
In his attack at the AAP in the national capital, where assembly elections are held, he pointed out that the mentioned areas lack proper clinics and schools.
ANI quoted the leader, “In the assembly constituencies in Delhi where Muslims live, the garbage of Delhi is thrown in those areas. No clinics and schools have been built in Muslim-dominated areas. There is no development in those areas.”
The leader said that he had filed multiple RTI applications asking the government out of the houses given under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana were given to Muslims. He also asked what the share of Muslims was under the government scheme, and he said.
He alleged that irrespective of whether they were the Central or the Delhi governments, all the announcements were made only before the elections.
“I have filed more than two RTI applications in which I, a Muslim, am asking the government that out of the houses being given under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, how many houses are being given to Muslims?… What is the share of Muslims in the government scheme?… Whether it is the AAP government or the central government, all the announcements are being made only before the elections,” ANI quoted the leader.
Meanwhile, a heated exchange unfolded between the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Delhi and Lieutenant Governor (L-G) VK Saxena over the demolition of religious structures in the national capital.
According to The Indian Express, the Raj Niwas alleged that the AAP government approved the demolition of 25 religious structures between 2016 and 2023, including temples and a Mazar. A mazar, often referred to as a dargah, is a shrine built over the grave of a revered Muslim figure.
