Delhi to undergo makeover ahead of G20 summit: civic body

New Delhi: New Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC) said the city's infrastructure will be undergoing a makeover ahead of the G20 summit scheduled for next year.

The roads, kerbs, footpaths, and central verges in the national capital will be given a makeover by cleaning, refurbishing, and beautification under the direct supervision of Delhi Lieutenant Governor (LG) VK Saxena. The city will be hosting various events related to the G20 summit in September 2023.

"Apart from cleaning, repair and replacement of footpaths along with a fresh painting of kerb stones is also underway. Thousands of flower pots with seasonal plants and flowers are being put along the footpaths and earthen side verges of roads," said the civic body officials to ANI.

The G20 summit will comprise around 200 meetings in 32 sectors across multiple locations in India. It is going to be one of the highest-profile international gatherings to be hosted by India. India recently took charge presidency of the alliance.
