Delhi records 45 new covid cases; lowest single-day rise in over a year

Delhi, on Monday, recorded 45 new covid cases, the lowest single-day rise in over a year after it reported 17 cases on April 15 last year. Three covid deaths were reported, and the positivity rate in the capital city stood at 0.08 per cent.

Since the onset of the pandemic, Delhi has recorded 14,35,128 cases. While 14.09 lakh patients have recovered, 25,018 succumbed to Covid-19.

On Sunday, Delhi recorded 53 cases and a positivity rate 0.07 per cent and three deaths. On Saturday, 76 fresh cases, a positivity rate of 0.19 per cent and one death were reported. On Friday, the city recorded 81 fresh cases, a positivity of 0.11 per cent and three deaths.

Delhi had recorded the highest single-day rise on April 20 when it recorded 28,395 cases. The highest positivity rate of 36.2 was reported on April 22, and the highest number of deaths on May 3. 448 deaths were reported in the city that day.

Currently, there are 693 active cases in the city, with about 244 people under home isolation. There are also 526 containment zones in the city.
