Delhi police detain dozens during Palestine solidarity rally

New Delhi: Delhi police took action against students who were expressing solidarity with the Palestinians. Police arrested dozens of people including the student leaders who participated in the protest at Jantar Mantar. SIO National President Ramees EK, National Secretaries Sheikh Sohel and Imran Hossein, Fraternity Movement National President Asim Khan and others have been detained by the police.

Palestine Solidarity Demonstration at Jantar Mantar was organized by SIO, the Fraternity Movement and other civil rights groups. Hundreds of students participated in the protest. There was a strong police presence at the site to handle the solidarity gathering. The protestors were taken into custody by the police as the programme started. Those arrested were taken to Jafarpur police station.
