Delhi murder: Police request for narco test on Aftab Poonawala

New Delhi: In Delhi's Shraddha Walkar murder case, police have filed a petition at the Saket court for a narco test on accused Aftab Poonawala, The Indian Express reported.

At the same time, the forensic team, which is inspecting Shraddha's body parts, informed that the DNA sampling would be challenging as the samples got old and the process would take two weeks.

TIE learned that days after Aftab allegedly killed Shraddha, who was his 27-year-old live-in partner, and chopped into more than 30 pieces, he consulted a doctor to treat some small wounds.

Aftab murdered Shraddha at their rented home in the Chattarpur Pahadi area on May 18. He cut her body into pieces and dumped them in the Mehrauli forest area. According to Delhi police, the accused confessed to the crime and told them about visiting the doctor. They took him to the forest area on Tuesday, they said.

Meanwhile, Poonawaala's employer has sent him a termination letter, The Indian Express reports. He has been working as an associate in the client-serving vertical at a private firm in Gurgaon for the last three months. Sources said that he started working in a call centre shortly after the murder, that is, within some 15 days.
