New Delhi: The Delhi Home Department has flagged a set of video clips, pertaining to the February riots to the Delhi Police on October 5, the Indian Express reported on Friday.
The video reportedly demonstrate the role of some personnel of the force in instigating violence.
Videos show policemen, along with a section of the people, pelting stones and eggs against another, prompting to violence, and torturing the protesters.
Several field investigations including that of Amnesty International had documented the Police complicity with the rioters who targeted Muslims in North East Delhi.
On 28 August 2020, in a briefing, Amnesty India said that it has documented several human rights violations committed by the Delhi police during the February Delhi riots.
The information gathered by Amnesty International revealed a pattern of human right violations and rampant impunity of the police.
The survivors of the riot said that the police was unsympathetic towards the grave risks survivors were facing during the violence.
The police did not intervene in to prevent violence despite being present and intervened only to arrest or attack the anti-CAA protesters.
The survivors also had complained that the police refused to register their complaints.
According to the government data, the riots claimed at least 53 lives and injured more than 500.
