Delhi court to hear case against KT Jaleel over "Azad Kashmir" today

New Delhi: Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, Rouse Avenue Court, New Delhi on Monday will hear the criminal complaint moved against former Kerala minister and CPI (M) lawmaker KT Jaleel over his controversial remarks about Pakistan occupied Kashmir.

KT Jaleel is facing sedition charges brought about by Supreme Court lawyer GS Mani, a BJP activist, who had filed a complaint against him at Delhi Tilak Marg police station days ago.

The police reportedly forwarded the complaint to the cyber-crime department and sought legal advice to investigate the matter.

Even though Jaleel had withdrawn the controversial post, complaints were brought against the former minister in both Kerala and Delhi.

KT Jaleel courted controversy with a lengthy Facebook post in which he described Pakistan occupied Kashmir as "Azad Kashmir" and Jammu and Kashmir as "Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir".
