Congress steps up mobilisation for INDIA bloc’s November 1 rally against ‘vote theft’

New Delhi: The Congress has intensified preparations for the INDIA bloc’s mega rally against alleged “Vote Chori” in New Delhi on November 1, with senior party leaders holding strategy meetings with units from Uttar Pradesh and Haryana.

AICC general secretary KC Venugopal said the party held high-level meetings on Friday to strengthen mobilisation for the rally at Ramlila Maidan. In a post on X, he said he and Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra met AICC in-charge for Uttar Pradesh Rajendra Pal Gautam, state PCC president Aradhana Misra ‘Mona’ and other senior leaders to plan large-scale participation.

A separate meeting was held with AICC in-charge Sanjay Dutt, Haryana PCC president Rao Narender Singh and other senior leaders from Haryana to review organisational preparations in the state, Venugopal said.

The Congress leader described the November 1 gathering as the culmination of a “Delhi Chalo” march that would reach the national capital on the same day. He expressed confidence that at least one million citizens would join the march and the rally, calling the programme against what he described as “criminal Vote Chori” historic.

Alleging that electoral irregularities were orchestrated by “Gyanesh and Co.” at the behest of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, Venugopal said people from across the country would attend in large numbers. He said the mobilisation would demonstrate that the opposition was united in protecting democracy and determined to remove the “Vote Chors” from power.

The INDIA bloc has been holding protests and awareness campaigns over alleged irregularities in the electoral process. The November 1 rally is being projected as one of the opposition alliance’s biggest mobilisations in recent times, with a special focus on participation from northern states.

The Congress has appealed to supporters and citizens concerned about democratic processes to join the march and the Ramlila Maidan gathering in large numbers.
