Hyderabad: The Telangana unit of the Congress has taken a decisive step, lodging a complaint with the state police chief, accusing the BRS and BJP of orchestrating a plot to overthrow the newly elected government.
PCC General Secretaries Kailash Netha, Charukonda Venkatesh, and Madhusudan Reddy officially filed the complaint addressed to DGP Ravi Gupta, urging an investigation into their grave accusation of a conspiracy against the government.
Kailash Netha, a PCC General Secretary, alleged that the BJP and KCR were actively involved in attempting to destabilise the government by providing financial inducements.
"Congress government is devoted to the progress of Telangana, yet BJP's Raja Singh and BRS leaders Kadiam Srihari and Palle Rajeshwar have claimed that the Telangana government will collapse within six months. We hold the majority," Netha stated in an interview with ANI.
He continued, "However, BJP's Narendra Modi and K Chandrashekar Rao are attempting to dismantle the government through financial means. Thus, we submitted a memorandum to DGP Ravi Gupta, urging an inquiry into the matter."
The Congress recently secured victory in the state's Assembly elections, seizing power from the KCR-led BRS. In the 119-member Assembly, Congress clinched 64 seats, BRS 39, BJP 8, AIMIM 7, with others securing 1 seat.
