During the opening session, Sonia Gandhi asked the party to " self-reflect" in the face of the " unprecedented" situation it was facing.
The meeting discussed some ambitious reforms including age-limit for leaders to hold organizational positions as well as for contesting elections. Another important idea was implementing a term limit for Rajya Sabha members and enforcing "one family, one ticket" rule.
The party will introduce 50 per cent representation at all levels to those below 50 years of age, beginning with the Congress Working Committee.
On the final day, the Chintan Shivir discussed ways to tackle BJP and went at length brainstorming whether to use Hindu or Hindutva in the report.
