Following an FIR filed in Civil Lines police station in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, over an alleged fake toolkit on Wednesday, Raipur police asked BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra to appear before it in person or on video conferencing at 4 PM on Sunday.
The FIR was filed by an NSUI functionary who said that the alleged "Congress toolkit" shared by Patra and other BJP leaders on Twitter referred to a document whose letterhead was forged. Twitter has also tagged the tweet as "manipulated media".
A likewise notice has been served to the National Vice President of the BJP and former Chhattisgarh CM Raman Singh. The notice asks him to remain in his residence at 12:30 PM on Monday for recording his statement. Failure to comply with the notice would attract legal action, an official said.
