Patna: The Muzzaffarpur court issued a show cause notice to the CBI after a witness who was declared dead by the investigative agency in the 2016 murder case of Siwan journalist Rajdev Ranjan appeared before the court on Friday. The CBI had also submitted a 'death verification report' in this regard.
Badami Devi, a native of Siwan, who was declared dead by the CBI, appeared in court on Friday and produced documents proving her identity. She is a witness against Laddan Mian who is one of the accused in the murder case, according to the Indian Express.

The advocate for Badami Devi, Sharad Sinha spoke to the reporters and said, "The court of first additional session judge-cum-special judge MP/ MLA case has expressed surprise at the matter and issued showcause notice to CBI."
