New Delhi: Actor Sai Pallavi is in the eye of a storm after she compared the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits to cow vigilantes targeting Muslims.
Bajrang Dal leaders were quick to file a complaint at the Sultan Bazar police station in Hyderabad over her comments involving Kashmiri Pandits.
The police reportedly said they would watch her video featuring her comments and seek legal opinion on next action.
She was promoting her upcoming film Virata Parvam on a YouTube channel when she compared Kashmir genocide to lynching by cow vigilantes over "cow smuggling".
Pallavi's comments had the social media divided, with a section siding with her, while many calling out the comments.
"The Kashmir Files showed how Kashmiri Pandits were killed at the time. If you are taking the issue as a religious conflict, there was an instance recently where a Muslim was attacked when he was driving a vehicle carrying cows, and people chanted Jai Shri Ram. So where the difference from what happened then and what is happening now?" the actor told the YouTube channel Great Andhra.
Pallavi further said that she was raised in a neutral environment and could not say whether right-wing or left-wing is right.
