Burnt bodies of Muslim men found inside car in Haryana: Cow vigilantism suspected

Bharatpur: The incident of finding the charred bodies of two Muslim men inside a car in Haryana is suspected to be cow vigilantism.

The families of the two men, suspected to be 25-year-old Nasir, 25, and 35-year-old Junaid, registered a kidnapping case against five men, believed to be members of the right-wing organisation Bajrang Dal.

The burnt bodies of the men were found inside a Mahindra Bolero SUV, the owner of this car is known to Nasir and Junaid, on Thursday morning in Haryana's Bhiwani district but the police are yet to confirm the remains are those of Nasir and Junaid.

"The burnt bodies of two unidentified men have been found in the car. To ascertain whether the two men were the same who were kidnapped, our team has gone to the spot with the family members. After post-mortem and DNA analyses, their identification will be verified," Bharatpur Inspector General Gaurav Srivastava said.

Considering the previous involvement of the accused five- Monu Manesar, Lokesh Singhla, Rink Saini, Anil and Srikant - in cow vigilantism, Srivastava said the police are also investigating whether the deaths were linked to cow vigilantism.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot condemned the incident and said that police had been directed to take strict action in the case.
