Borders may change, Sindh may return to India: Rajnath Singh

New Delhi: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh asserted that Sindh province, the area near the Indus River, may well return home to India.

The region went to Pakistan after Partition in 1947 with Sindhi people, those lived there, coming to India, NDTV reported.

Pointing out that borders could change, he said people belonging to the generation of LK Advani never accepted the region’s separation from India.

‘I'd also like to mention that Lal Krishna Advani wrote in one of his books that Sindhi Hindus, especially those of his generation, still haven't accepted the separation of Sindh from India,’ he reportedly said.

He added that Hindus throughout India consider the Indus River as sacred with many Muslims also believing that ‘the water of the Indus was no less sacred than the Aab-e-Zamzam of Mecca. This is Advani ji's quote’.

‘Today, the land of Sindh may not be a part of India, but civilisationally, Sindh will always be a part of India. And as far as land is concerned, borders can change. Who knows, tomorrow Sindh may return to India again. Our people of Sindh, who hold the Indus River sacred, will always be our own. No matter where they are, they will always be ours,’ the Defence Minister reportedly said.

Earlier in Morocco Singh said in an interaction with Indian community members that people in PoK were demanding freedom from occupiers, adding that he was confident that region would return to India without having to take any aggressive steps.

‘PoK will be ours on its own. Demands have started being made in PoK, you must have heard sloganeering,’ Singh said.
