Mumbai: Days after Punjabi singer Moose Wala was shot dead, Bollywood actor Salman Khan and his father Salim Khan received threat letter.
Police started probing the provenance of the letter, taking note of the fact that Salman Kahn had been threatened in 2018 by Lawrence Bishnoi gang which allegedly shot dead Moose Wala.
Lawrence Bishnoi reportedly issued death threat to Salman Khan over the black buck poaching case of 1998. Salman khan was one of the accused in the case; however, what prompted the gang to issue threat to the actor was not known.
Salim Khan found the letter on a bench he used to sit after jogging in the morning near the Bandra Bandstand promenade in Mumbai on Sunday.
The letter was in both his and Salman Khan's name, The Indian Express quoted the police as saying.
Lodged in Tihar Jail, Lawrence Bishnoi is being quizzed by police in Moose Wala murder case.
Rapper Sidhu Moose Wala was shot dead in his native village a day after the Punjab government withdrew security for him.
Moose Wala suffered 19 bullet wounds and died 15 minutes of attack, reports say.
