Blow up all madrassas and Aligarh Muslim University: Yati Narsinghanand

New Delhi: Controversial preacher Yati Narsinghanand Saraswati allegedly called for blowing up all madrassas as well as Aligarh Muslim University.

Saraswati, who was previously booked for hate speech, faces new charges for the statements that he allegedly made while attending a programme of the Hindu Mahasabha in Aligarh on Sunday.

Referring to the ongoing survey by Uttar Pradesh government of unrecognised madrasas, Saraswati said there should not be an institution like madrasa, according to India Today.

A video reportedly showed him asserting that all the madrasas should be blown up with gunpowder like China does.

He added that madrassa students should be sent to camps to remove the 'virus called Quran' from their heads, according to the report.

Yati Narsinghanand also called for demolishing the Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) as well as asking for its students to be sent to detention centers and their brains be treated.

Yati Narsinghanand was previously arrested and later released in the Haridwar hate speech case last year.

Most recently Yati Narsinghanand in a viral video was heard saying that "Mahatma Gandhi was responsible for the murder of one crore Hindus".

Meanwhile, Yati Narsinghanand termed the Congress's Bharat Jodo Yatra a "joke", adding that Rahul Gandhi is with the jihadis.

He asked Rahul Gandhi to unit Pakistan and Bangladesh with India if he wants to unite India, accusing that both these places were built by Mahatma Gandhi.
