Hyderabad: BJP will abrogate reservation by 2025, the year marks 100 years of operation of Rashtriya Swayamseva Sangh (RSS), Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy said in his latest statement. This is amid the ongoing battle between BJP and Congress in the state, India TV reported.
In a public meeting, Revanth Reddy said that by 2025, RSS will complete 100, and they will scrap SC, ST, and OBC reservations. This is evident from comments by many BJP leaders, Reddy said.
He reminded that the BJP was against the implementation of the Mandal Commission report, which recommended reservation for the Backward Classes. The saffron party is trying to get 400 seats in the parliament, which would be sufficient for them to scrap reservations.
He said that few people are supporting the BJP, which is trying to abolish reservations, while the ongoing Lok Sabha elections are a referendum on SC, ST, and BC reservations.
Reddy’s statement came after Prime Minister Narendra Modi attacked the Congress party for including the entire Muslim community in Karnataka under the OBC category.
In election rallies in Madhya Pradesh, Modi claimed that by putting the entire Muslim community in the OBCs, Congress had robbed other castes category a large chunk of it. Congress is indulging in this “dangerous” game which is going to destroy future generations, Modi claimed
Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, claimed that the Congress government in Karnataka’s move is Islamisation of India. The party’s move is very unfortunate and will push India towards divisions. This is just like what previous UPA governments in the Centre were trying to do, Adityanath said. He added that the BJP held a mass movement against the attempts.
Adityanath, the BJP CM of UP, claimed that whether it be the Justice Verma Committee report or Sachar Committee report, all were attempts by the Congress to loot the reservation of OBCs, SCs, and STs.
