Manakondur/Telangana: Bharat Rastra Samiti (BRS) working president KT Rama Rao (KTR) said that BJP has plans to make Hyderabad a Union Territory, as well as overhaul the Constitution, after June 2. He said that to foil the saffron party's move, it is imperative that there are BRS MPs in the Parliament, The Hindu reported.
KTR asked party members to work hard for the victory of BRS candidates in the Lok Sabha polls, which is to be held on May 13. He was addressing party cadres at a meeting here.
He claimed that BRS alone could foil any moves detrimental to Telangana's interests. He urged party workers to work with fresh vigour to make the party victorious in the LS elections.
KTR alleged that the BJP was planning to change the Constitution and accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of hurting the sentiments of the people of Telangana. He also slammed Modi for arbitrarily merging five mandals of Bhadrachalam Agency in Andhra Pradesh in 2014.
Later, KTR accused Chief Minister and Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee president A Revanth Reddy of "match-fixing" with the BJP. He accused Reddy of helping BJP candidate Bandi Sanjay Kumar in the Karimnagar LS seat.
