BJP MP's casteist remark against AICC spokesperson Dr. Udit Raj draws flak

New Delhi: Uttar Pradesh's BJP MP Harman Singh Yadav's casteist remarks against Congress Spokesperson Dr. Udit Raj is drawing sharp criticism. In a controversial tweet, which has been withdrawn now, Harman Singh Yadav said that Udit Raj saw the parliament only because of BJP and otherwise he would not have qualified for cleaning the filthy streets of any corporation ward. The screenshot of the deleted tweet is doing rounds in the social media.

Dr. Udit Raj, also the Chairman of All India Confederation of SC/ST Organizations, was earlier an MP of BJP during 2014-2019 and deflected the party in 2019.

He responded that the BJP MP's tweet is an instance for his party's attitude towards the Dalit community and said that Harman Singh has insulted the Balmiki society. He demanded an apology for the casteist remarks.

Meanwhile other Congress leaders have not commented on the issue so far. Questioning the attitude, Suraj Kumar Baudh, the Azad Samaj Party leader said, the silence reveals that both parties are same in the outlook towards the SC/ST communities. He also tagged the screenshot of Harman Singh Yadav's tweet.

Though the BJP MP has deleted the tweet, netizens are demanding an apology from him.
