Patna: The BJP-backed NDA government in Bihar has praised Italian fascist Benito Mussolini and German dictator and Nazi leader Adolf Hitler. The praise was in a poster posted on the official social media page of the Bihar State Water Resources Department. The poster, which was published last February, has become a controversy now, that is, nine months after posting. Now, the poster has been removed from the page.
The post read, "Two of the most influential politicians of the 20th century stand side by side, their ideology was perfect."
After this controversy, officials claimed that the official X account of the Water Resources Department was hacked, according to a PTI report. Cybercriminals took control of the page and changed the name and username several times, the officials claimed in a statement.
The account has retweeted pictures of Portugal tourism, Donald Trump's Truth Social posts about tariffs, and a wedding photo with Melania Trump. However, attention on the controversial post fell only now. It was only removed after the post went viral. Netizens are asking why the hacked account was left unnoticed for nine months. Some have pointed out that this poster has been on social media for more than nine months, and no one has bothered to change it. Some netizens commented that the most absurd things are coming out of Bihar, the most backward state in India.
