The BJP leadership on Saturday reviewed the party's preparations for the Assembly elections to be held next year. 2022 shall witness assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Gujarat and Goa.
The elections and party programmes leading up to it were discussed at the meeting of general secretaries at BJP national President JP Nadda's residence. BL Santhosh, the party's national general secretary, was also present at the meeting.
Sewa Hi Sangathan 2.0 programme, set up to provide relief amidst the COVID second wave, was reviewed. "It was found that the majority of the state units and organisational wings have done good work while some have performed below expectations under 'Sewa Hi Sangathan 2.0'. It was discussed that all state units should reach out to the maximum number of people with relief," sources said.
This is the first meeting of the saffron party's leadership after the recent assembly polls held across Kerala, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal and Assam. While the BJP formed government for the second consecutive term in Assam and made significant inroads into the West Bengal assembly, it was reduced to merely four seats in Tamil Nadu and no seats in Kerala.
