Saharanpur: A shocking crime unfolded in Uttar Pradesh’s Saharanpur district, where BJP leader Yogesh Rohilla allegedly shot his wife and three children, resulting in the death of two of his kids, officials said on Friday. The tragic incident took place in Sangatheda village under the Gangoh police station area, leaving the local community in shock.

According to police reports, Rohilla, an executive member of the BJP, opened fire on his family, killing his son and 11-year-old daughter on the spot. His wife and another child sustained critical injuries and were immediately rushed to Saharanpur district hospital for treatment.

Upon receiving information, senior police officials, including Saharanpur SSP Rohit Sajwan, arrived at the scene. The accused was apprehended at the spot, and the pistol used in the crime was recovered.

SSP Sajwan stated that initial investigations suggest Rohilla acted out of suspicion regarding his wife’s character. "Yogesh Rohilla shot his wife and three children due to suspicions about his wife’s fidelity. Two of the children died, while the wife and the third child are in critical condition at the hospital," he said.

Sources revealed that Rohilla had been under severe mental distress for the past few days, although he had not shared his troubles with neighbors or acquaintances. After committing the crime, he reportedly called the police himself, following which authorities took him into custody.

The brutal act has sent shockwaves through the village, prompting a high-level investigation. A forensic team has been deployed to analyze the crime scene, while police officials are questioning the accused to uncover more details about the motive and exact sequence of events.

Local authorities have assured a thorough inquiry, with efforts underway to gather additional evidence and testimonies. The gruesome killings have sparked widespread concern, particularly over the tragic loss of two innocent lives.
