Had it been the case, Uttar Pradesh would have experienced all natural calamities since it is the state where cow slaughter for export occurs at the highest level in India. However, the BJP leader from Rajasthan seems to overlook this while blaming Kerala’s landslides on cow slaughter.
Senior BJP leader Gyandev Ahuja has stirred controversy by linking recent landslides in Wayanad, Kerala, to cow slaughter practices in the state.
Ahuja, a former Rajasthan MLA, has suggested that the ongoing landslide disaster, which has claimed 358 lives, is a consequence of such practices. He further warned that similar tragedies will persist if cow slaughter continues in Kerala.
The landslides, which struck several villages including Mundakai, Churalamala, and Meppadi on July 30, have prompted a massive rescue operation. Over 1,300 rescuers are actively searching for survivors using advanced equipment and machinery.
Ahuja has drawn comparisons to other regions affected by natural calamities, like Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh, which, according to him, do not experience such severe disasters despite frequent landslides and cloudbursts.
He claims a pattern of catastrophic incidents in areas involved in cow slaughter has emerged since 2018.
