Nava Raipur: Congress leader Sonia Gandhi on Saturday said that the BJP government is fuelling the fire of hatred in the country. She attacked the ruling party by saying that it "viciously targets minorities, women Dalits, and tribals.
Speaking at the party's 85th plenary session in Nava Raipur, she said the BJP government is causing economic ruin by favouring a particular businessman. She was referring to the alleged association between the Modi administration and the Adani Group.
The former Congress chief urged the party workers to tackle the current government with vigour and reach out to people to convey this message. "In this crucial time, every Congress worker bears a special responsibility towards the party and the country." She added that Congress is not just a political party but reflects the voices of all religions, castes, and genders and asserted that the party will fulfil the dreams of all communities.
She observed that the BJP government's actions show contempt for the values in the Constitution. Sonia Gandhi further said that it is a challenging time for Congress and the country as a whole. "BJP-RSS has captured and subverted every single institution in the country."
Congress is preparing a 'Vision Document 2024' to achieve electoral success in the next Lok Sabha polls. It will address the issues of unemployment, eradication of poverty, inflation, women empowerment, job creation, and national security.
"Congress must reverse the current regressive path of growth. Our growth mantra must have a human touch, creating livelihoods and employment opportunities. The judiciary is constantly threatened by direct and indirect measures which create apprehensions in their mind. Unfortunately, the Law Minister himself is leading the blatant attack on the judiciary. Congress promises that the independence and integrity of the judiciary will be maintained and protected at all costs," said a source close to the party to PTI.
